A Bath in the Attic
These clients in this colonial era stone house had to go downstairs from their Master Bedroom to get to the nearest bathroom; one they shared with guests. Outside the Bedroom, and two steps up was attic space – unusable for anything but storage. So we raised the roof! Once that was done, there was room for a dressing area and a proper Master Bath. Notice the original attic window opposite the curved wall. Also notice that we constructed the new rear wall with double framing so that the new windows could be deep set to match the existing windows set into the thick stone walls.
